For this week’s column I want to do a more traditional historical piece on the power hierarchy of the WWF(E). While Vince McMahon has always maintained overall creative control of his product, there has generally been a constantly changing pattern of creative staff and booking team members.

- WWE this morning issued a press release confirming that Freddie Prinze, Jr is now part of WWE’s creative team. The press release noted the actor was a long-time WWE fan (something which more often than not won’t get you a job with creative.
Vince McMahon was quoted as saying: “Freddie Prinze, Jr.’s passion, energy and creativity make him an excellent fit for WWE.”

- WWE tapes ECW and Smackdown tonight in Philadelphia, PA. tonight at the Wachovia Center. As always we’re looking for a report/results from Smackdown and you can get in touch at phil@wwepreview.com if you’re heading to tonight’s show.
The main event for ECW is a four way match between The Miz, John Morrison, Finlay and Matt Hardy with the winner facing Mark Henry at Summerslam next month. No matches have been announced for Smackdown although its safe to assume that the show will be built around Edge and Vickie Guerrero.

WWE last night announced that “McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania” has been suspended and that a press release regarding details of the incident that closed last night’s edition of Raw will be released later this morning.
The incident was 100% angle, and was done as a storyline reason to give WWE a way out of the weekly $1million give away.
For those who missed last night’s show, Raw ended with lighting equipment and a large electric sign falling on top of Vince, and wrestlers and officials scrambling to help him.

A question that sends the male population crazy. The bigger the better right? Wrong. How very wrong. Vince McMahon and some of the female population need to get a clear sense of reality. Sometimes, the biggest doesn’t necessarily mean the best in the world. It’s the smaller guys who tend to show up the big men.
Enough with the innuendo’s already and let’s get serious. WWE has always, and I believe will always, be the land of the giants. It’s a shame but that’s the way it is. The likes of …
