Okay, so I’ll get this of my chest,as it’s only a minor quibble. But at the risk of sounding pedantic and like, well, a twat, I should point out the rather frivolous title that this WWE release sports.
“The Greatest,” “of all time,” implies that this collection of bouts is the cream of the crop, the best of the best, a selection where only the finest rise.
However, in the case of Hell in a Cell, that pretty much means all of them. There only have been sixteen Cell matches in company history and this DVD includes a whopping 14 of them. Hardly selective…

- We understand that Mick Foley has signed a contract with TNA with an announcement to be made at some point on Wednesday.
From speaking to a source close to the situation, I got the impression that Foley had agreed a relatively short-term deal however I’ve not been able to confirm the length of the deal. There was talk at one point of a three-year deal but I’d be surprised if either side committed for that long and a year-long deal similar to Sting’s would seem to make more sense.

- Shawn Michaels’ injury was acknowledged by WWE.com just a short while ago following the conclusion of Raw. They noted that Michaels “injured his left tricep” and said an update would be posted later today (Tuesday).
The word backstage on Sunday night following the TV tapings was that Michaels was telling people he would work Sunday’s match with Chris Jericho at Unforgiven. Right now, that is totally up in the air and nobody knows for sure.
If Michaels requires surgery, which we will hopefully know later tonight, that could rule him out …

Shawn Michaels is believed to have suffered a torn triceps muscle in what would be a major blow for both Michaels himself and WWE.
The Wrestling Observer reports that the injury apparently happened during Sunday night’s Raw tapings in St. Louis.
We’ll have more on the injury on the front page of the site later today, with Raw and Smackdown spoilers from last night’s supershow taping to follow a little later this morning.

Welcome back to “Throwing in the towel”, my regular dose of Pro-Wrestling Insanity, and the second part of the count-down to Summerslam. So here we go, with the top ten, great matches in Summerslam history!
10. Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio (2002)
One of the best openers to a WWE PPV, ever, surely??? Summerslam 2002 was bursting with an invigorating dose of freshness, the sort that spawned directly from competitors such as these two. Rey was brand new to WWE fans, having arrived just weeks before and making a huge impact by …

Welcome back once more to “Throwing in the Towel”! It’s an exciting time at the moment in the world of wrestling. Not just because the Dead-man is erm, alive once more, and not just because Chris Jericho is wearing pants that reveal his shiny thighs, but because Summerslam, is just around the corner!
Now I’ve long been a fan of this super-show, often enjoying it much more than Wrestlemania. As a kid, I just always expected this one to be the show that would have the best matches, and as an …

Welcome to the second week of my weekly coverage of Raw, with “Raw Bits!” With Summerslam seriously looming overhead, this threatened to be a very good episode indeed, with last week’s solid (in general) edition, and the intriguing use of Mike Adamle hinting at a few changes.
On with the show….
Tender Cuts
(The tasty parts)
Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho received quite the pop for interrupting the segment between JBL and Adamle, earning himself a “Y2J” chant. I would like to think that this response is down to two things- the fact that JBL/Punk may …
