This week’s episode of SmackDown saw a continuation of the hype for the SmackDown Scramble Match and continuing The Undertaker’s storyline where Vickie Guerrero wants forgiveness.
Speaking of The Undertaker, the show begins with him coming to the ring for a promo. I know that opening-show interviews have been a staple of WWE’s weekly television for the last ten years, but Undertaker appears rarely enough that he’s a special attraction, so surely if he’s going to come out and cut a promo about wanting to kill the General Manager, maybe that’s …

The fantastic ending to the SummerSlam PPV where Edge got chokeslammed into the pits of hell was a great way to bring Undertaker back and give Edge some time off. The poetic justice of him getting payback for all the bad stuff he’s done towards the end was great too, but honestly Edge has been so great that if you’re giving him some time off and writing him out of the show for a short while, and wanting to show Undertaker as pissed off old guy teaching Edge a lesson, …

It was all going so well, despite many flaws. Until the final few moments, the Hell In A Cell Match that headlined Summerslam 08, featuring Edge and the Undertaker, was one heck of a silly match…
Now, now, don’t get your sweet, sweet panties all soiled. I’m not saying it was the pits - it was actually, a very good match indeed. I enjoyed it tremendously. Almost as much as those ol’ Spiderman Pez dispensers you used to get….But hear me out, that is not why I grumble.
So some people are …

Welcome back once more to “Throwing in the Towel”! It’s an exciting time at the moment in the world of wrestling. Not just because the Dead-man is erm, alive once more, and not just because Chris Jericho is wearing pants that reveal his shiny thighs, but because Summerslam, is just around the corner!
Now I’ve long been a fan of this super-show, often enjoying it much more than Wrestlemania. As a kid, I just always expected this one to be the show that would have the best matches, and as an …

Smackdown kicks off this week with further reminder that its Edge’s show, as the video package focuses on his brilliant Cutting Edge segment with Mick Foley that closed last week’s show, interspersed with clips of The Undertaker doling out beatings in Hell in a Cell matches.
There was one moment here that illustrated perfectly the kind of thing that the WWE do which shows just how brilliant their video packages are. At the end, as Edge was shown going nuts, they closed in on his eye and they’d superimposed an image …

Smackdown this week was yet another in the on-running theme of Edge proving that he completely rules. The final segment with Mick Foley was one of those segments that could be talked about for years, and is further proof of Edge being the best all-round performer in the WWE today.
The opening match saw MVP beat Jimmy Wang Yang in a short squash, fortunately using the kick to the head as finisher rather than that horrible overdrive/play of the day/playmaker thing that he used to use. But it was bookended by …
