Tuesday AM news update: Shawn Michaels update and other WWE news and notes
- Shawn Michaels’ injury was acknowledged by WWE.com just a short while ago following the conclusion of Raw. They noted that Michaels “injured his left tricep” and said an update would be posted later today (Tuesday).
The word backstage on Sunday night following the TV tapings was that Michaels was telling people he would work Sunday’s match with Chris Jericho at Unforgiven. Right now, that is totally up in the air and nobody knows for sure.
If Michaels requires surgery, which we will hopefully know later tonight, that could rule him out of WrestleMania XXV next Spring, however that cannot be said for sure until he has been further evaluated. It does, however, sound as if HBK will require surgery and given his age and injury history, that is bound to lead to speculation regarding his in-ring future.
We’ll post an update later today, plus Todd Martin’s Raw recap will be up on the front page of the site shortly.
- WWE.com has posted an article featuring Triple H and Kenny Dykstra paying tribute to their trainer, the late Killer Kowalski at this link.
- Trish Stratus returned to television in Canada last night with a show called Stratusphere which sees the former WWE Women’s champion travelling across the world and taking part in physical challenges.
- Ron Killings appears to have made a great impression on several higher-ups in WWE since returning to the company, according to a couple of people we spoke to in the company over the past few days.
- WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, will be holding an event at the 7,800 seat Lee County Civic Center in Fort Myers, Florida on November 15.
