- Raw takes place tonight with an announced main event of John Cena & Batista vs. Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes for the tag team titles in a rematch from last week’s show.

- Ric Flair has spoken about his departure from WWE for the first time in any real detail. Flair said was forced to turn down a payday worth over $300,000 after WWE prevented him from appearing on a 30-city autograph signing tour of the old NWA promotions. He told Charleston.net: “I just can’t leave money on the table anymore,” adding, “I’m 59 years old and I’ve never stood on my own two feet without wrestling.

“I need to find out if I can. Vince (McMahon) can’t prop me up forever.”

Flair also praised WWE. “I want everybody in the world to know that I love and respect the WWE,” he said. “They’ve helped me through so much of my life and have made me a better person.

“They recognized me and my family at Wrestlemania, and have propped me up and helped me as long as they can.”

- Devin Cutting sent word that Flair will be appearing at the GCW Pro Wrestling event in Pell City, Alabama on August 23. The event is a fundraiser for the family of deceased police officer Greg Surles.

- Brock Lesnar convincingly beat Heath Herring Saturday night at UFC 87. We’ve got comments from the former WWE champion up at this link as well as a full UFC 87 report at this link. Lesnar’s wife, Rena ‘Sable’ Mero was sat ringside for the fight, as was Jesse Ventura who was shown on camera to a decent pop in front of the local crowd.
