- This past Tuesday night’s edition of ECW on Sci-Fi did a 1.4 rating, considerably up from previous weeks. The reason? My guess is that we’ll know for sure in a few weeks what has caused the spike.

It could be a one-off, but it could be continued interest carrying on from Raw as a result of the recent draft and/or CM Punk winning the World Title. Although Punk wasn’t advertised as appearing on the show, obviously WWE fans know him best from his run on ECW, so there could have been some crossover there.

- According to a couple of people in the company, WWE are looking at bringing in one or more Mexican wrestlers for the Smackdown brand. With Rey Mysterio moving to Raw, there’s a worry that ratings in the Hispanic demographics will suffer.

Although Carlito is now part of the Smackdown brand and will likely be better utilised than he was on Raw (providing he keeps his mouth shut when giving interviews etc.), he’s nowhere near at the level of Mysterio in terms of popularity and value to the company.

- The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE’s Raw brand house show tonight in Peru could draw around 40,000. At least, that’s the figure local promoters are hoping for. As noted earlier in the week, Triple H is flying in for the show as the bulk of publicity for the show was based on him being there.
