Newly drafted Smackdown star released by WWE

World Wrestling Entertainment this afternoon announced that Trevor Murdoch had been released from the company.

Given that Murdoch was recently moved to Smackdown from Raw as part of WWE’s draft lottery last month, I am of the impression that there will be more to this story than a straight forward case of the two parties agrees terms on a release for the usual wrestling related reasons.

We’ll have an update on Murdoch’s release in the morning.
