JUMPING JIM BRUNZELL DISCUSSES VINCE MCMAHON’S DISLIKE OF THE KILLER BEES AND HOW IT LEAD TO THE TEAM’S DOWNFALL

Thursday July 31 BY WorldWrestlingInsanity.com

From High Flyer to Killer Bee, Jumping Jim Brunzell spent the ’70s and ’80s dazzling crowds with his spectacular dropkick. Now Jumpin’ Jim has resurfaced on ClubWWI.com for a rare 55 minute shoot interview that no old school fans should miss.

New fans should take notice too. James Guttman’s nearly one hour ClubWWI discussion with Jim Brunzell covered every aspect of his career and addressed many subjects from today’s product as well. Jim discusses Iron Sheik at length including early memories of a young Sheik, why his heat with Brian Blair is so confusing, the story behind the infamous WrestleMania 3 tag match and more.

He also addresses rampant steroid use in ’80s WWF, Jokes They Made About Drug Testing, Too Much Talking on Raw, What Today’s Stars Don’t Understand, Verne Gagne’s Health Problems, Teaming With Greg Gagne, Drinking With Bobby Heenan on Verne’s Plane, Disappointment With The AWA, Hogan Family Drama, Never Turning Heel, The Heel He Would Have Been, When “Mask Confusion” Jumped The Shark, John Cena, Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase Jr, Kurt Angle, and More.

One of the many interesting subjects that Jim talks about on ClubWWI..com is the plight of the Killer Bees. No tag title reigns. No big split. No turn. Why? Brunzell has a theory on that.

“This is my own personal opinion. I don’t think Vince McMahon really liked either one of us. Maybe it was because at that time he sort of sucked the talent from all the different promoters throughout the country and there wasn’t really a spot for either one of us as a singles, so they made us a team and Brian was a close friend of Hulk’s and I had been a friend of Hulk’s when he was with the AWA. I think there were many opportunities for Brian and I to do better in the WWF, but for some reason or other I think - well, I know a couple of the reasons. Vince, I think it boils down to he just didn’t care for us. Which is fine. I remember the first couple of days I met him, I thought…”

Brunzell talks about his thoughts during his initial meeting with Vince and his opinion of him. He also talks about the pay-per-view that let him know the Bees were in trouble, when Mask Confusion jumped the shark, how the masks hurt the team, his later days in WWF, Vince’s actions with the AWA, and more. All of these and more in this jam-packed 55 minute ClubWWI.com shoot.
